The flat mold system has two die flats, one at the bottom is fixed,and the other one is a slider. The blank is placed at one end of the fixed mold,and then the moving die slides over the blank, so that the blank is rolled down from the fixed lower die to form a finished product. There are a variety of thread forms for flat molds, such as ANSI, BS, DIN and JIS. It can be offered with or without holding angles. The flat mold uses a cold forming process to produce external threads, using a fixed mold and a moving mold to form the external thread.
